Memorial services for SSG Aaron Marcus Rutledge will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Rev. Matt Palmer officiating, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

SSG Rutledge, age 27, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at his residence.

SSG Rutledge entered the Louisiana Army National Guard in December 2004. He was born in Houston, Texas. He mobilized in 2011 in support of Operation New Dawn and again in 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Awards include, Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Bronze Hour Glass and Mobilization Device, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Louisiana War Cross (2nd Award), Louisiana Emergency Service Medal (2nd Award), Louisiana General Excellence Ribbon (2nd Award) and Louisiana Longevity Ribbon (2nd Award).

Badges, Combat Action Badge and Army National Guard Recruiter Badge – Basic.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marc Anthony Rutledge.





He is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Allex V. Rutledge of Pineville; one son, Ezra Lee Rutledge of Pineville; mother, Eva Johnson of Baton Rouge; one brother, Anthony Rutledge (Sarah) of Covington; one sister, Ruby Dearing of Baton Rouge.

Friends may call at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
