Obituary for Rita Kay Vanasselberg (Rabalais)
A “Celebration of Life Service” for Mrs. Rita Kay Vanasselberg will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Mrs. Vanasselberg, age 58, of Colfax, Louisiana left cancer behind and entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her residence in Colfax, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.
She worked for many years as a surgery tech for Dentist and Oral Surgeons in the Central Louisiana area. Rita was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Rita is preceded in death by her father, Russell Long Rabalais.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Thornton and her loving son-in-law, Troy of Denham Springs; mother, Dorothy Jenkins White (Budgy) of Tioga; two sisters, Debbie Ackel of Tioga and Carol Pomes (James) of Mobile, Al; two grandchildren, Troy Kelley (Ariel) and Kaylan Teddlie (Colton); two great-grandchildren, Titan Kelley and Eva Gray Coutee; nieces and nephews, Jarrod Pomes (Robin), Carter Pomes, Chad Pomes (Treva), Tanner and Ansley Pomes, Elisa Cutts (Corey), Joshua Poston, Colby, Karly and Saylor Cutts, Jodie Johnson (Jeremy), Hannah and Jaron Johnson.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
