Life Story for Bessie Mae Pigg (Malone)

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Pigg will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana, with Reverend Steve Honeycutt officiating. Interment will be in Malone Cemetery, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bessie, age 89 of Ball, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Bessie was a proud lifelong resident of Ball, Louisiana. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and her family was her life. Mrs. Bessie was an avid sports fan but especially loved Houston Astros Baseball. She had a larger than life personality and was known to do things her own way. Mrs. Bessie also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles and gameshows, and the occasional trip to the casino.

Mrs. Bessie Mae Pigg is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Douglas Pigg; parents, King Michael Malone and Della Mae Malone; brother, Russell H. Malone and his wife Juanita; brother, Eddie L. Malone and his wife Dorris; sister-in-law Rose Malone; and great great grandson, Trace King,; Special Friend, Lillian Dauzart.

Mrs. Pigg is survived by one son, Mickey Douglas Pigg (Sherri); brother Luther Malone; grandchildren, Clinton Pigg (Anne), Dustin Pigg (Carly), Shane Bolton, Drew Greenwald (Nicole), Matthew Greenwald (special friend Jane); great grandchildren, Sarah Pigg, Marshall Pigg, Austin Pigg, Olivia Greenwald, Ceason Jeasonne (fiancé, Chase), Eric Jeasonne (Chelsee), Johnny Schembre, and Nicholas Schembre; and one great great grandchild, Declan Jeasonne.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Pigg are Clinton Pigg, John Jewell, Joey Malone, Roy Hebron, Joseph Zeller, and David Zeller; honorary pallbearers are John Smith, Dustin Pigg Matthew and Drew Greenwald.

The Pigg family would also like to extend a special thank you to a host of people for their care and compassion of Mrs. Bessie. A special thanks to Dr. Joan Brunson, Dr. Kenneth Brown, the nurses and staff at Brian Clinic, to Joseph and Renee Lemon, Larry and Stacy Zeller, and to Bill and Glenda Moring.

Friends may visit Gallagher Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from
5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from noon until the time of service at 2:00pm.
