Obituary for LTC (R) Robert L. Jordan

LTC (R) Robert L.  Jordan
Memorial services for LTC (R) Robert L. Jordan will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana, with Reverend Bob Brawley officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Jordan, age 91, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal on August 9, 2017 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Mr. Jordan was a WWII Veteran and LTC(R) from the Louisiana National Guard. He was a member of Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church. Mr. Jordan was a graduate of Tioga High School and Louisiana College (BS). He was also a member of Curtis Hines Lodge, Tioga, Louisiana.

Robert loved to travel with his wife, Florence, whether by RV, plane, train or automobile. Loved all things LSU and he had a great passion for golf. For many years both of them worked at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia and he was on the staff at Links on the Bayou scheduling marshals and organizing the golf carts each day.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jordan; parents, Edward and Audrey Griffith Jordan; four brothers; one sister.

He is survived by his sons, LTC(R) Lance D. Jordan (Barbara) of Vass, NC, Richard A. Jordan (Susan) of Wake Forest, NC, Bryan E. Jordan (Megan) of Hornsby Heights, NSW, Australia; step-sons, Danny Collins (Kay) of St. Johns, Florida, Larry Collins (Wanda) of Haughton, LA; Kenny Collins (Debbie) of Ball, LA; one brother, Fred Jordan (Lynn) of Pineville, LA; sisters, Joyce Jordan Snell of Elgin, Texas, Beth Jordan Scaife (Don) of Many, LA and Diane Jordan Willis of New Orleans; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Honorary pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Red Cross to help those in need from Hurricane Harvey.
