Condolences

Condolence From: Gary Popplewell
Condolence: My Uncle Ed. I really can't talk about him without including Aunt Bob (Barbara Jean). He was her rock in many ways. I remember as a little kid when he came into my life. She was a small town girl with the guts to move to the big city and make her way alone. He was a student at Texas Technological College. She was a happy, full of life lady moving into the world with a new “hot shot” car. He was a down-to-earth studious and quite person with a dry sense of humor that captured me. That humor kept him grounded and Bob on the right path. Their mutual love of Jesus and each other proved them well throughout life.
Although I did not get to be with him much in life, I know I will see him again. Until then, I will think of him always as I have every day of my life. His presents in my journey has always given me direction that he never knew about. His presents taught me how life is just life. Take it one day at a time and make the best of what that day gives you. I never saw him mad, only rarely frustrated when working through any issue. They both taught me to “count it all joy”.
It was so good to have some time with you at Aunt Bob’s funeral. Please forgive me for not making it to your funeral. I know you understand and approach my absence with your same “life is life” demeanor. You know that I love you both and am excited that you are together again. I will miss you deeply!
