Life Story for Ludie Lockwood

Funeral services for Mrs. Ludie George Lockwood will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Father Bruce Miller officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Lockwood, age 80, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Lockwood was a loving wife of 60 years, mother, grandmother, sister, and an avid gardener. She worked for 21 years at Louisiana Central State Hospital in the food service department. Whether the food was for work or for family, everyone loved her cooking. She was also a very gifted seamstress and made school clothes for her children and even prom dresses. Mrs. Lockwood enjoyed bream and white perch fishing with her husband at their camp on Iat Lake. She will forever be missed by those who loved her.

Mrs. Ludie Lockwood is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret George; siblings Bill George, Walter George, Edith Skaines, Lula Coker, Artis George, and Robert George, Jr.; 1 granddaughter, Stephenie Satcher; and 1 great-grandson, Joseph Sonnier.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Adrian Lockwood, Sr.; children, Lou Ann Pierce (Steven), Adrian Lockwood, Jr. (Donna), Betty Satcher (Randy), Tina Bardwell (Patrick Dauzat), and Bert Lockwood (Monica); sister, Mable Basco; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Adrian Lockwood, Jr., Bert Lockwood, Chris Lockwood, James Jenkins, Michael Pierce, Tina Bardwell, Dennis Lockwood, and Robert Lockwood.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. for friends and family.
