Life Story for Rosario Ballam

Rosario Ballam
Mrs. Rosario “Rose” Perez Ballam, age 81, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her residence in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Rosario Perez Ballam will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., at St. Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria, Louisiana, with Father Peter Faulk officiating. Arrangements for Mrs. Ballam have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Rosario was born in Sevilla, Spain on December 3, 1936 to Manuel and Guillermina Perez. She was married to George Ballam, who was in the Air Force and stationed in Spain, on February 3, 1960. They were married 52 years until his death. Mrs. Rosario traveled the world after her husband retired from the Air Force, in Alexandria, Lousiana. Her late husband has family in New Orleans. Rosario had close friends that loved and cared for her and her beloved pets.

Mrs. Rosario was proud to have cared for the children of many local families, including Dr. Freedman’s family, Dr. David Holcombe’s family, and Dr. Harishwar Agawal’s family. It was her joy to help care for their children and to watch them grow into successful adults. Everyone who knew “Rose” is grateful that she touched their lives, and are happy to know that she is resting at last. Mrs. Rosario “Rose” Ballam’s remains are going to be sent to her home in Spain.

Mrs. Rosario is preceded in death by her husband, George Ballam, and her twin boys that died at an early age.

She is survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews, all of whom live in Sevilla, Spain.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the local animal shelters.
