Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Beaubouef Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Willie Beaubouef and Jack West officiating. Interment will be in Big Island Cemetery in Deville, Louisiana under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Friends may visit at Gallagher Funeral Home on Monday evening, February 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Smith, age 89, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Matthews Memorial Care Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband’s, Julius Lee Smith and John Robert Smith; three sons, William “Bo” Smith, Michael Smith and Wayne Smith; a grandson, Neil Smith; her parents, William and Regina Beaubouef; four brothers, Elbert “Fritz” Beaubouef, Hardy Beaubouef, Watson Beaubouef and Dotson Beaubouef and two sisters, Audrey Bonnette and Beatrice Cole.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Smith Stanton (Russell); three sons, Vernon “Pat” Smith (Judy), Tommy Smith (Jo Etta) and John Smith, Jr. (Sharon); a brother, Byron Beaubouef (Melba); Nine Grandchildren, seventeen Great Grandchildren and eight Great, Great Grandchildren.
