Nita Bergeron (Coco)
Funeral services for Mrs. Nita Coco Bergeron will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Chaplain Jeff White officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mrs. Bergeron, age 91, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Naomi Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Nita Bergeron was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her smile and big heart. She had a green thumb and could successfully grow anything from vegetables to flowers. Mrs. Bergeron was also an avid animal rights advocate and was a self-taught artist and jeweler. She spent the last three years of her life at Naomi Heights and the family would like to extend a special thank you for their loving care and compassion.
Mrs. Bergeron is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bergeron.
She is survived by her daughter, Nita Nugent Bowers and her husband Gordon S. Bowers, Jr. of Alexandria; step-daughter, Sally Bergeron and her husband Petch of Houma and Debra Bergeron and Pete Bergeron; grandchildren, Nicole Linscomb and her husband Nick of Dallas, Texas and Blake Bergeron and his wife Kandice of Houma; great-grandchildren, Logan Linscomb and Luke Linscomb of Dallas, Texas, and James Bergeron and Jacob Bergeron of Houma.
Friends of Mrs. Bergeron may visit, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
It was Mrs. Bergeron's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ASPCA.
