Life Story for
A.D. Futrell Jr.
Funeral services for A.D. Futrell, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Wayside Baptist Church, Pollock, Louisiana, with Reverend Kevin Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Pollock Cemetery, Pollock, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Futrell, age 73, of Pollock, Louisiana, entered eternal ret on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Futrell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church were he served in many capacities including Deacon. Mr. Futrell, a graduate of NLU, taught in both Avoyelles and Grant Parishes. He taught for over 22 years before being elected to the school board in Grant Parish in 1992, serving five times as School Board President. In addition, he served as chairman of Grant Parish District # 5 Fire Board for many years. Mr. Futrell also served on the Pollock Federal Prison Board and coached basketball at Mansura High School and softball at Grant High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Liz Futrell of Pollock, one daughter, Karen DeBusk (Louis) of Pollock; one son, Michael Futrell (Rhond) of Madisonville, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Blain DeBusk and Blake DeBusk of Pineville, Madison and Dylan Futrell of Madisonville; one sister, Gloria Bingham (Lawrence) of Monroe, LA.
Friends may visit on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Wayside Baptist Church.
