Life Story for Earl David "Toenails" Whitstine

Earl David "Toenails"  Whitstine
Funeral services for Mr. Earl David “Toenails” Whitstine will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Bentley United Pentecostal Church, 19578 Highway 167, Bentley, Louisiana with Reverend Bruce Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in the Whitstine Family Cemetery, Nelms Loop Road, Colfax, La., under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana. Friends may visit on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Bentley United Pentecostal Church in Bentley, La from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Earl, age 67, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Whitstine was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. “Toenails” loved playing softball with the OK Lakers and racing his dirt track racer, Driver #11 at Forest Hill, Thunder Valley, Chatham and Grant Speedway. He won 1st place, in the races he ran most times and has plenty of trophies to prove it. Earl David received a lot of recognition when it was reported in the local news, August 2000, that a logger spotted seeing “Big Foot” in Cotton Island.

Mr. Whitstine was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Almarie Whitstine; daughter, Angela Whitstine and a brother, Robert Whitstine.

Earl is survived by seven daughters, Dana Burnaman (Jerry) of Deville, Tammie Whitstine of Avoyelles parish, Melissa Clark (Neco) of Marksville, Patricia “Bones” Whitstine of Alexandria, Lacie Maddox (Kevin) of Poland, Kristin Tassin (Michael) of Denham Springs and Celina Whitstine of Dry Prong; four sons, David Whitstine and Mark Whitstine of Dry Prong, Kenneth Whitstine (Candace) of Colfax and Eric Whitstine (Brittanie) of Tioga; three sisters, Nellie “Sissie” Rousseau (Charlie) of Marksville, Shirley Kline (Gary) of Pineville and Darlene Delaney (Tim) of Pollock; four brothers, Charles Whitstine (Ida) of Colfax, Samuel “Buddy” Whitstine (Jonell) of Colfax, Wiley Whitstine (Holli) of Dry Prong and Dale Whitstine (Karen) of Colfax; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Dylan Whitstine, Jerry Burnaman Sr., Kameron Cooper, Scott Carter, Clamar Vercher, Wiley Whitstine and Kyle Whitstine. Honorary pallbearers are Eli Whitstine and Camden Budnik Whitstine and Tyler Tassin.
