Life Story for Viola Nichols (Everett)

Viola Nichols (Everett)

Funeral services celebrating the life of Viola Everett Nichols will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana, with Pastor Anthony Mangun and Reverend Dennis Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery, in Gardner, Louisiana. Visitation will be observed from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Viola, at the age of 87, was called home by our Heavenly Father. She passed from this life at Lexington House Retirement community in Alexandria, Louisiana, on Friday, May 4, 2018. Her many nieces and nephews loved her and knew her as Aunt Bobo and Aunt Vi.

She was born January 17, 1931 to the union of Albert D. Everett and Rosia Ray Everett. On December 24, 1949, she married her husband, Zack Nichols. They had one son, Bert Douglas Nichols.

She was a member of The Pentecostals of Alexandria and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. In 1948, she completed High School at Oak Hill High, Elmer, Louisiana, and furthered her education at a Business School which prepared her for employment at Central Louisiana State Hospital as a Steno-Clerk where she retired in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son. Also, two sisters, Agalice E. Morgan and Milburn E. Powell, and three brothers, Albert D. Everett, Earl R. Everett, and John W. Everett.

Those left to cherish her memory are her extended family, which includes many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to those that sat with Mrs. Viola, the Lexington House, and Guardian Hospice, for their loving care.
