Obituary for Ret. MSgt. Jack Strauss

Ret. MSgt. Jack  Strauss
Funeral services for Ret. MSgt. Jack G. Strauss will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Eddie Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pineville, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana. Friends may visit on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Strauss, age 77, of Boyce, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Strauss proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Jack worked 10 years for the Louisiana Special Education Center in the maintenance department, he also owned Jack’s lawn mower repair for several years. Jack was one of the charter members of the Cotile Bucks Hunting Club. He was a member of the Boyce First United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of over 16 years, Roberta Strauss of Boyce; four sons, John Strauss (Jeanne) of Baton Rouge, Joel Hoover (Aimee) of Pineville, Wyatt Hoover (Crystal) of Boyce and Kenneth Strauss (Danielle) of Texas; one daughter, Ruth Dolin (Kevin) of Tennessee; one brother, Ken Strauss of San Diego, CA; one sister, Midge Boyle (Bob) of Spring Valley, CA; two granddaughters; six grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the following charities, Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 929, Ruston, LA 71273 or The Wounded Warrior Project, 2200 Space Park Dr., Suite 100, Houston, TX 77058.
