Life Story for Eddie Eugene Walker

Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Eugene Walker will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Jeff White officiating. Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Eddie Walker, age 83, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Walker was a loving father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. It was during this time that he served two tours in Vietnam and traveled to countless countries. After retiring from the Air Force he graduated from the LSU Fire became the Assistant Fire Chief and a Sheriff’s Deputy for Esler Field. Mr. Walker also enjoyed pitching in Fast Pitch Softball leagues for over thirty years. He later went on to help coach several girls softball players. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Williams Walker; parents, Talley and Mary Ortego Walker; brother, Talmadge Walker (Cleola); and sister, Geraldine McCann (Black McCann).

Mr. Eddie Walker is survived by his son, Daryl Walker (Rose); daughters, Julie Conrad and Sherry Pelican; grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah, Brandon, Joey and Rylee Walker; great grandchildren, Brayden Harmason; brother, T.E. Walker; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve are; Caleb Walker, Brandon Walker, Joey Walker, Tayler Littleton, Duyane Turner, and Ricky Clark.
