Obituary for Roy Glen Weaver

Funeral services for Mr. Roy G. Weaver will be held on June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Crew’s New Salem Baptist Church, Montgomery, Louisiana, with Reverend Richard Winegeart and Reverend Scott Tilton officiating. Interment will be held in Crew’s New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Weaver, age 74, of Montgomery, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Weaver worked in the logging industry for many years and he was a member of Crew’s New Salem Baptist Church, Montgomery, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved fishing and working in his yard. He will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Martha Paul Weaver; Pop, Steve Meyers; three brothers, Archie Bryant, Arthur “Buddie” Weaver and Henry “Peewee” W. Weaver; nine sisters, Myrtle Kramer, Dorothy Lee Mateo, Magiline Rogers, Helen Perkins, Sally Long, Geraldine Thompson, Mary Barnes, Maggie Stroud and Patsy Dunn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mabel Weaver of Montgomery; two sons, Kevin G. Weaver (Penny) of Winnfield and Roy D. Weaver (Kim) of Ponca City Oklahoma; three daughters, Trina K. Lambert (Mark) of Montgomery , Dana E. Weaver of Montgomery and Felicity Mobley (Roy) of Ashland, Louisiana, fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Nick Mobley, Jamie McCartney, Corey Perkins, Josh Bryant, Garret Weaver and Dustin Clitton. Honorary pallbearers, Herman Lovell, Wayne Lovell, Billy Higgins, Bobby Myers, Larry Joe Hale, Joe Fletcher, his nineteen great-grandsons, Antwan Holmes and Dylan Toler.

Friends may visit on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Crew’s New Salem Baptist Church, Montgomery, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
