Life Story for Jimmy Houston Jones
Mr. Jimmy Houston Jones, age 77, of Dry Prong, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 9, 2018, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, in Ball, Louisiana. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.
Visitation for Mr. Jones will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Jones was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a mechanic. After he retired from the Navy he went on to work for many years with several companies including, Vo Tech, Dresser, and Montgomery Wards. Mr. Jones also enjoyed keeping up with current events and politics. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Davison Jones; parents, Houston Jones and Ola Weatherford Jones; and brother, H.V. Jones.
Mr. Jimmy Jones is survived by his daughters, Nikki Spurgeon (Randall) of Montgomery and Reginia Middleton (Daniel) of Alabama; sister, Earlene Martin of Olla, Louisiana; grandchildren, Maddison Spurgeon, Crystal Brown, Constance Robinson, and Heather Lenoir; great grandchildren, Aubrie Lenoir and Remington Robinson; and nephews, Greg Martin, James Jones, and Mitchell Jones.
