Life Story for Wayne McKay
Mr. Elton “Wayne” McKay, age 61, of Pollock, Louisiana was a Christian man, who met his Lord and Saviour, when he passed from this life on Friday, September 14, 2018. His funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Big Creek Baptist Church in Pollock, Louisiana with his pastors, Reverend David Guillot and Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the same location. His burial will be in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, LA.
Wayne loved the Lord, was a good and faithful father, an active member of his church, and enjoyed the outdoors. His time was spent in prayer, taking care of his livestock, farming, hunting, and working. He worked as a truck driver, and was previously employed by the Grant Parish Police Jury, T & T Logging of Tullos, and Louisiana Pacific.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Christine McKay. He is survived by his children, Matthew and Kande, and her husband Bradley Perkins; granddaughters, Layla and Harper; brother, Marshal McKay and his wife Lee Ann; sister, Colleen, and her husband Dave Hebron; and his sister, Chris Ann, and her husband, Joe Cole.
Wayne was described as “one of the nicest people.” His memory is cherished by Vivian Vidrine, nephews and nieces, extended family, co-workers, friends, including the mother of his children, Janice Sudduth, and church family.
His family is appreciative of the caring staff of Jena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Heart of Hospice, and Trinity Neurologic Rehabilitation Center of Slidell.
Matthew McKay, Bradley Perkins, Jesse Cole, Joseph Cole, Josh McKay, and Bill King will serve as Pallbearers.
