Life Story for Cammie "Nanny" Roberts (Croom)

Cammie Roberts, also affectionately known as “Nanny”, died on Saturday, December 1, 2018 while a resident at Tioga Community Care Center. She was 98 years of age.

Nanny was born on January 24, 1920 to Charlie & Linnie Croom. She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, her husband Milton Roberts, and one grandson, James Roberts.

Nanny married her sweetheart, Milton Roberts, in 1935, and was blessed to have 31 years with him. Together they had four children who are left to cherish her memory: Bernell Briggs (husband, Leland), David Roberts (wife, Edwina), Norman Roberts, & Wayne Roberts (wife, Lynelle); Grandchildren: Mark Briggs, Marsha Briggs Ganey, Kim Roberts Kimsey, Keith Roberts, Karyn Roberts Hale, Kevin Roberts, Kristy Roberts, Venessa Roberts, Latonya Roberts Lemoine, Karin Roberts Denmon, & Kari Roberts Sanders. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren and 19 great, great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Nanny was a member of Bentley United Pentecostal Church, a former employee of Pinecrest, a pastor’s wife, a homemaker, a mom, a grandmother, a gardener, a seamstress, and she could make one serious cup of coffee. But, of all those roles, she was best at being a great example; a Christian, a prayer warrior, one willing to love unconditionally. Her family was her joy. Her influence on their lives is immeasurable.

Bentley United Pentecostal Church at 19578 Hwy.167, Bentley, Louisiana will host visitation on Monday, December 3rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.

Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana on Tuesday morning, December 4th.

Officiating in the service will be: Mark Briggs (Shreveport, La), David Kimsey (Pineville, La), Leland Briggs (Bentley, La) & Bruce Maxwell (Bentley, La).

Pallbearers honored to serve are: David Roberts, Norman Roberts, Wayne Roberts, Keith Roberts, Kevin Roberts, & Latonya Roberts Lemoine.

The Roberts family would like to thank the staff at Tioga Community Care Center for their compassion and care. We are forever grateful.
