Obituary for Betty Ruth Edwards (Dudley)
Mrs. Betty Ruth Edwards, age 85 of Boyce, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service for Mrs. Edwards will be on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Anthony Mangun and Dennis Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Visitation for Mrs. Edwards will be on Wednesday evening, January 8, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m .at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
Mrs. Edwards was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria. Mrs. Edwards, along with her late husband L.T. Edwards, owned and operated Edwards Country Store in Flatwoods, La.. Edwards Country Store, the hub of Flatwoods, served as a convenience store, a feed store, restaurant and meeting place for many residents of the Flatwoods community. Betty and L.T. also owned and operated "Edwards and Sons" Trucking Company for many years. Mrs. Edwards will be missed by many folks that knew and loved her.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, L.T. Edwards and a son, Gary R. Edwards.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by a daughter, Markita G. Edwards; a son, Howard L. Edwards; a sister, Dell Bergeron; six granddaughters, Skye Vaughn (Dr. Troy Vaughn), Summer Edwards (Clint), Jessica Fontenot, Angel Mathews (Chris), Lauren Edwards and Logan Edwards; four great-grandchildren, Hanna Juneau, Maxwell Ponthieux, Ava Vaughn and Harleigh Grace Fontenot and a host of friends.
