Life Story for William Overton Blacksher Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. William Overton Blacksher, Jr. will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Brent Dix officiating, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Blacksher, age 80, of Boyce, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Blacksher was a private but generous man, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business, from Mississippi State University. Mr. Blacksher was able to put his education to good use and held several positions while working in Business Administration for different healthcare facilities. He also owned several hundred acres of land and raised cattle and owned some horses. Mr. Blacksher was very proud of the quality of cattle stock that was able to be bred and raised on his farm.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr. and Belle Romero Blacksher; one daughter, Kathy Blacksher Hudson; one brother, Robert Blacksher;

He is survived by Mary Lou Carter Blacksher of Alexandria; two sons, Trey Blacksher of Alexandria and Paul Blacksher of Alexandria; two daughters, Debbie Blacksher Rogers of Lafayette and Susan Blacksher Spears (Michael) of Alexandria; one brother, Danny Blacksher (Becky) of Ringold; one sister, Shirley Blacksher LaCour of Alexandria; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Trey Blacksher, Paul Blacksher, Danny Blacksher, Michael Spears, Paul Hudson and Nathan Howe.
