Life Story for Dwain Poston

Funeral services for Mr. Obie Dwain Poston will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at The Sanctuary of Praise in Pineville, Louisiana with Reverend’s David Kimsey and Wallace White officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell cemetery near Ruby under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana. Visitation for Mr. Poston will be on Wednesday evening, June 10, 2018 at The Sanctuary of Praise in Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Poston, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Woods Haven Nursing Care facility surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Poston was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Poston liked the color blue but always had red trucks. Mr. Poston dearly loved his wife, Dorothy, and they were inseparable. He was a member of the Sanctuary of Praise in Pineville and he will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Poston; daughter, Celito Poston; parents, Henry Poston and Lessie Campbell Poston; brother, Bud Poston; and sisters, Hazel Willis, Eunice Webb, and Lois Merlene Lucas.

Mr. Dwain Poston is survived by his two daughters, Charlotte Poston (AJ) and Cindy Cannon (Jeffery) of Pineville; sisters, Yvonne Warren, Ruth Giles, Linda Willis, and Evelyn Willis; five grandchildren, Tyrel Lacheney, Darren Lacheney, Casey “Bubba” Littleton, Rayden Sabata and Melody Sabata; two great-grandchildren, Baylee Lacheney and Darren “Buck” Lacheney, II.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Sam Poston, Tony Giles, Arthur Giles, Rod McGee, Joe Poston, Thomas Pietsch, Cheslie Thacker, and Kenneth “Man” Cole, Jr., and Roy Willis as an Honorary Pallbearer.
