Life Story for Ressie Lemoine

Funeral services for Mrs. Ressie Compton Lemoine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Saint Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria, Louisiana with Father Craig Scott officiating. Burial will follow Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana. Visitation for Mrs. Lemoine will be on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Saint Rita Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Lemoine, age 96, of Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Christus Saint Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mrs. Lemoine was a loving mother to all of her children and family. She was very meticulous about her appearance, paying special attention to her dress and hair. Mrs. Lemoine also enjoyed shopping and was a fantastic cook, known for her cornbread dressing and gumbo. She was a member of Saint Rita Catholic Church since the mid 1980’s. She will be forever missed by those that loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Earl Lemoine; daughter, Peggy Dugas; parents, Peyton Compton and Jettie Carmen Compton; three brothers; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, David Lemoine (Shirley) of Ballwin, Missouri, and Wayne Lemoine of Alexandria; two daughters, Debbie Sparks (Randy) of Avondale, Arizona, and Susan Wagers (Gary) of Alexandria; two sisters; two brothers; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Abi-Rached and all the staff at the hematology oncology center, for their care and compassion for Mrs. Ressie Lemoine.
