Obituary for Doris Dean Suba (Brown)

Doris Dean Suba (Brown)
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Brown Suba will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Cody King officiating. Visitation will held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mrs. Suba, age 79, of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Thursday August 2, 2018 in Rapides Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Suba, Jr., whom she often called “the love of her life” and her “soulmate.” He often told her she was beautiful, and she regularly referred to him as tall, dark, and handsome. She enjoyed travel, was an avid fisherwoman, and spent many years volunteering with the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans group (DAV). She was a great cook, but her claim to fame was her homemade delicious jellies. Her husband Joe loved her plum jelly the most and thus named it Doris’ “Plum Good Jelly.”

Additional survivors include a son Scott Suba and wife Debbie of Pineville; three daughters Diane Baudoin and husband Raymond of Pineville, Bonnie Hazelton and husband Roderick of Lake Cove, and Sherry King and husband Mack of Lake Cove; one son-in-law Irby Hazelton of Lake Cove; 12 grandchildren Becky Nelson, Brent Gaskin, Christopher Suba, Heather Jones, Justin Suba, Nate Hazelton, Joni Johnson, Brandon King, Joshua Newcomb, Heath Hazelton, Candice King, and Dakota King; and 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Doris will be greeted in heaven by her parents, Gilbert and Gertrude Brown, her loving daughter Tina Suba Hazelton, grandson Jason Gaskin, and granddaughter Jessica King who preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will include Jordan Vidrine, Dalton Hazelton, Chris Jones, Brayden Gaskin, Gerald Nelson and Seth Hazelton; honorary pallbearers to serve will be Justin Suba and Laine Elliot.

Friends may call the funeral home at 318-640-1375 or post messages of condolence for the Suba family by visiting www.gallagherfh.com.
