Ms. Carol Judith McFarland, age 74, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at The Oaks Care Center in Pineville, Louisiana. Funeral services for Ms. McFarland will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Reverend Dennis Brown officiating. Friends may visit on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ms. McFarland was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. Ms. McFarland held many jobs in her life including, an independent oilfield land man, legal secretary, and retired as a Deputy Sheriff from the Rapides Sheriff’s Department. Carol also loved her dog, Poppy. She loved her cars, especially her red Chevelle convertible, and she kept them immaculate. Ms. McFarland was a honest and straightforward person and would let you know where you stood with her. She was loved and cherished by all that knew her, and she will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy McFarland, Sr. and Norlean Lanier McFarland; grandparents, Morris and Orella Lanier; sister, Linda Pope; nephews, Joshua Judson Brumfield and Jeffery Pope; and niece, Michelle Scott.

Ms. Carol McFarland is survived by her brother, Guy L. McFarland, Jr. (Mary) of Baton Rouge; sister, Cindy Brumfield (Gerard) of Lafayette; nieces, Kaitlyn, Madelyn, and Lauren McFarland; nephews, Chase Brumfield (Paige) and Jason Pope (Patti); aunts, Janice Brown, and Annette Chelette Murray; and great nephew, Jase Pope.
