Life Story for Sgt. Raymond N. "Barney" Lacoy Sr.

Sgt. Raymond N. “Barney” Lacoy, Sr, age 80, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for “Barney” Lacoy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Tim Harris officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. Friends may visit on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Lacoy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a veteran of the USAF and retired from the Alexandria Police Department as a sergeant after 20 years of service to the City of Alexandria. Mr. Lacoy also retired from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s office after 14 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Lacoy; a son, Raymond “Butch” Lacoy and a grandson, Jeffery Lacoy.

“Barney” is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carolyn Lacoy of Boyce; two daughters, Sheryl Gram and Judy Reichardt of Boyce and one son, Jason Lacoy of San Antonio, Tx.; two sisters, Jean Boudreaux and Carol Girouard both of Massachusetts and a brother, Roger Lacoy (Betty) of Goldonna, La.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
