Life Story for Maybelle Ray (Roshto)

Mrs. Maybelle Roshto Ray, a woman of faith and the heart of our family, was age 90 years old when she passed from this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Her strong will to live and her unwavering faith was a wonderful example to her family and friends. She was also a mighty prayer warrior, relentlessly praying for her family and for others.

Mrs. Maybelle was born on December 23, 1927 in the Rigolette Community to Mitchell and Gladys Roshto. Throughout her life she won the hearts and trust of many in her family, church, and community. Her joy was teaching and loving the Tiny Tots at her church where she taught for over 50 years.
Mrs. Maybelle faithfully cared for family and friends through tireless cooking, canning, baking, sewing and gardening. The highlight of her week was serving Sunday lunch to those she loved which included family and friends.

Mrs. Maybelle is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Cecil Ray, parents Mitchell & Gladys Roshto, her sixteen siblings and her grandson, Don Boone.

Mrs. Maybelle is survived by her son Rod Ray, daughter Ty Swaim, daughter Phyllis Boone and son in law Robert, sister Joy Sowers, brother David Roshto and sister in law Mildred, six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchilden and four great great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maybelle will be on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at the Tioga Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Ricky Swaim, Joshua Eubanks Sr., Ryan Eubanks, Charles Ray, and great grandsons Lane and Nathan Kirkland. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Boone, Mark LaCroix, and Pressley Murphy.
