Obituary for Michael James Fontenot
Funeral services for Mr. Michael James Fontenot will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Ron Perry officiating. Interment will be in Hemphill Star Cemetery, Boyce, Louisiana. Arrangements are entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. Fontenot, age 62, of Boyce, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Matthews Memorial Care Center, Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Fontenot was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting. He could always be found in his work shop making woodcrafts of all sorts. He retired from Roy O. Martin after 35 years of service. Above all, his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, Grayson and Adley. He will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raphael Fontenot, Sr. and his sister, Annette Burke.
He is survived by his son, John Fontenot (Ainsley) of Boyce; mother, Doris Fontenot of Moss Bluff, LA; two grandchildren, Grayson and Adley Kate Fontenot of Boyce; two brothers, Raphael Fontenot, Jr. (Cathy) and John Patrick Fontenot (Katherine) of Natchez, MS; four sisters, Karen Stein (Mark) of Moss Bluff, LA, Edna Gilbert (Jimmy) of Lake Charles, Doris Breaux (Charles) of Moss Bluff, LA and Paula Hebert (Robert) of Moss Bluff, LA;
Friends may visit on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Josh Harper, Collin Lewis, Mark Stein, Troy Stein, Derrick Rachal and Jeffrey Moreau; honorary pallbearers will be Grayson Fontenot, Raphael Fontenot, Jr. and Kenny Myers.
The family would to give a special thank you to Matthews Memorial Health Care Center and Guardian Hospice for their love and care.
