We will always remember.

First Sergeant Retired Ernest Scott Jr. [23 years] who enlisted in what will undoubtedly be his most courageous reconnaissance mission on Wednesday December 26, 2018.

As a Vietnam veteran, we will remember him for his bravery, strength, and patriotism. Through his work in juvenile and adult corrections, we will remember him for his candor, compassion, and persistence.

His family though, will remember him simply as husband, son, brother, uncle, dad, and Paw Paw. We will remember the man who would courageously modeled his journey in faith and walked as such in all he did. We will remember a man who was stern but gentle in the lessons he sometimes struggled to teach us. Like always wash your hands before touching anything in the kitchen, do not start something you are not willing to finish, only hit your sibling if they can hit you back, how a movie day snuggled up together or a quite fishing trip are often the best medicine and to never forget who is fighting in your corner.

As a man who loved and was loved by many, there are three truths that Scott taught us that we will remember most of all. First, that Heavens not too far away. Second, that sometimes hardships are merciful blessings and third, that we can talk with him anytime.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Scott

At this time, his family asks for your prayers and patience.
