Obituary for Cleve Lane Catchings Jr.
Mr. Cleve Lane Catchings, Jr., age 62, of Colfax, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. Funeral services for Mr. Catchings will be held on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Pastor Bruce Maxwell officiating. Visitation for Mr. Catchings will be on Friday January 11, 2019 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Colfax under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. Cleve was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed fishing, music, going to the movies, and New Orleans Saints football. Mr. Cleve had a great appreciation for nature and loved eagles and Native American art. He also started a tradition of watching storms. Mr. Cleve will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
Mr. Catchings is preceded in death by his parents, Cleve Catchings, Sr. and Pauline Williams Catchings.
He is survived by daughters, Veronica Catchings Rangel (John) of Houston and Sharon Catchings of Houston; son, Cleve Catchings (Michelle) of Seattle; grandchildren, Eris Haggerty, Grace Folley, Samantha Rangel, and Alexandria Rangel; sisters, Thelma Mundy, Bertie Boatright, and Linda Snow; brothers, Freddie Catchings and Robert Catchings; and a host of nieces and nephews.
