Bettye, age 84, was born to Robert E. Lee Coleman and Virgie May Lea Coleman in Brookhaven, MS. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Rayford Allen of Quentin, MS. They were married for 26 years. Bettye was the last of her family to pass. She had 6 sisters: Nellie Mae Coleman, Willie Beatrice Coleman Wallace, Edith Coleman Cupit, Mary Coleman Wallace, Thelma Maxine Coleman Dickey, and Dorothy Coleman Cupit. Her 3 brothers were: Huey L. Coleman, Billy Gene Coleman, and Bobby Glen Coleman. She also has a grandson, Morgan Allen that preceded her in death.

Bettye Allen is survived by: Tommy Ray Allen and Pamela L. Babin - husband Cary James Babin. Her grandchildren are: Samantha Lynn Allen Carroll - husband Daniel Thomas Harvey Carroll, John Stanton Allen - wife Shannon Faye Allen. Jonathan "JB" Babin - wife Courtney Willis Babin. The Great grandchildren are: Sabrina Allen, Karen Addiston Allen, John Logan Allen, Jensen Jory Babin, and Jace Jennings Babin.
There are several cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister in-laws, and very special friends that will miss her as much as she will miss them.

Bettye worked many years in the Adams County School System and went on to retire from AT&T as a telephone operator.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden and keeping up her yard. She loved crocheting and cooking for the elderly in her church. She also participated in many church activities as she could. When she moved to Deville she visited Unity Baptist and was looking forward to continuing her volunteering there also.
