Obituary for Carroll Wayne McGee
Funeral services for Mr. Wayne McGee will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the G.A. Mangun Center, Alexandria, Louisiana with Reverend Anthony Mangun officiating. Music will be provided by Mickey Mangun. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.
Mr. McGee, age 82, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 7, 1936 to the union of Earl Carl McGee and Olice Croom McGee, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mr. McGee worked for International Harvester and Houston Power Equipment, later forming a farming partnership with his father in Columbia and Monroe, Louisiana. Upon the death of his father, Mr. McGee went to work in the oil field, working as a rig mechanic, before being made a Maintenance Supervisor for Dual Drilling.
Mr. McGee was a member of the Pentecostals of Alexandria, and upon his retirement, worked in Bus Ministry and had a love for the open road, whether it be sharing the family R.V. or hauling freight across the country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Olice McGee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nell R. McGee of Alexandria; one daughter, Carol McGee Thomas of Alexandria; one grandson, Adam Wayne Thomas of Alexandria; one brother, Charles David McGee (Linda) of Alexandria
