Obituary for Nelwyn O'Neal (Guillory)
Mrs. Nelwyn Guillory O’Neal, age 83, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services for Mrs. O’Neal will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Reverend Jim Thomasee officiating. Burial will follow the service, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. Visitation for Mrs. O’Neal will be on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. O’Neal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was the first born of six children to Beatrice and Cloyce Guillory and grew up in the farming community of Effie Louisiana. She married Thomas O’Neal and they married and she spent 50 years building a life together. Mrs. O’Neal, with her husband, owned and operated Paradise Grocery. Those that knew her well would say it was her quiet strength and sacrifice that defined her. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O’Neal; parents, Cloyce and Beatrice Guillory; sister, Pansy Pickering; and brother, Gay Guillory.
Mrs. Nelwyn O’Neal is survived by sons, Randall O’Neal (Sara) of Baton Rouge, Reginald “Kirk” O’Neal of Pineville; and Brad O’Neal (Holly) of League City, Texas; daughter, Charlotte O’Neal Smith (Bo) of Deville; sisters, Elaine Bryant (Harvey), Irene Levy (Randy), and Rheba Guillory; eight grandchildren, Amanda Lluvera (David), Sandra LaCombe (Alan), Carolyn Hines (Chad), Linda O’Neal, Julia Torres (Luis), Abigail O’Neal, Ben O’Neal, and Emery O’Neal.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Make a Wish Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
