Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Over the years I have thought often of Mrs Affletranger. She was a true teacher and when I met a kid that didn't enjoy a subject I thought of all her ideas of good teaching. She made me realize that I could learn forever and never limit my subjects. She also taught me that so much could be learned from fossils and the study of other cultures. From science to history to laughter. In my life there have been many teachers that made me a better person. And at a young age Mrs. A. did just that. She was never afraid to laugh at herself or her subject. Cook a little octopus and teach a little science, and top it all off with a little side of passion about a good fossil dig. I am very sorry to hear about her passing and wish the family peace in healing and our deepest sympathy. Callie Broussard-Wheeler and Duncan Wheeler.
