Obituary for Frances Wood
Mrs. Frances Cooper Wood, age 89, of Jena, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living Center, in Alexandria, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with the Reverends Cliff Stewart and Terry Townsend officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wood was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jena and she sang in the choir for many years. Mrs. Wood enjoyed sewing, decorating, crafts, and cooking. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wood; parents, Joe and Edna Cooper.
She is survived by two daughters, Suzy Wood Cross of Allen, TX and Robin Wood Nall of Pineville; two sons, Alan Knight of Monroe and Rob Wood (Paula) of Chesapeake, VA; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Brookdale Assisted Living, especially the Memory Care Worker and All Saints Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
