Obituary for Billy Joe Casto

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Casto will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Wayne Law officiating, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Casto, age 88, of Ball, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Casto was born in Buckhannon, WV. He made Cenla his home when he was transferred to England Air Force Base. In 1953 he found the love of his life and his salvation at Lakeside Pentecostal Church, Pineville, Louisiana. He was a Veteran and served his country with pride in the United States Air Force, where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic. He also worked several years at Proctor and Gamble in Pineville, Louisiana. He was a very intelligent man, a Jack of all Trades. He was a computer technician, loving all things electronic and anything to do with aviation. Anyone that knew Joe, knew that he could “Fix It”. Most of all he was lovingly known as “Pop” to his family. He will be missed by anyone that knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Willa Wayts; father, Paul Casto; brothers, John and Winton Wayts; paternal grandparents, Loman and Dora Casto, and infant “Angel” of Kevin and Ritha Warren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Vera “Regina” Casto of Ball; son, Darrell “Buddy” Casto (Karen) of Baytown, TX; two daughters, Anita Casto of Ball and Ritha Warren (Kevin) of Pineville; sisters, Louise Lough of Buckhannon, WV and Marcella Kelley (Delmuth) of Tallmansville, WV; five grandchildren, Cherith Casto, Autumn Casto, Cortland Casto, William Warren and Nathaniel Warren; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may visit on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana and on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to The Summit Nursing Home, Rapides Regional Medical Center 6-A and St. Joseph Hospice for the care, and kindness given to Mr. Casto and his family.
