Mr. Bruce Boyd Davis, age 79, of Bentley, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Lexington House in Alexandria, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.
Services for Mr. Davis will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Bentley United Pentecostal Church at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Maxwell, Brother Leland Briggs, and Reverend Keith Maxwell officiating. Friends may visit on Sunday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial for Mr. Davis will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and was an accountant on a ship. Mr. Davis was a Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy before becoming the Warden. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and just being outdoors. He was a talented commercial painter and overall handy man, and built his home with his own two hands. Mr. Davis had a servant’s heart, helping around the church in any way that was needed. He was lovingly described as a quiet man with many looks. Mr. Davis will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Davis; granddaughter, Naomi Maxwell; parents, HC “Jake” Davis and Eunice Smith Davis.
He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Dubois (Kerry) of Arkansas, Vonda Carter (Stephen) of Bentley, and Mikelle Maxwell (Keith) of Bentley; sisters, Kathryn Matthis of Pineville and Judy Leblanc (Bruce) of Alexandria; brother, Kenneth “Bo” Davis (Elouise) of Kolin; grandchildren, Leighton Carter, Isabella Maxwell, and Joel Maxwell; and a host of extended family, friends, and church family.
