Mr. Floyd Joseph Rachal, age 80, of Basile, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 23, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Services for Mr. Rachal will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana. Visitation for Mr. Rachal will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Rachal was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was described as a quiet man with a big heart who was loved by all. Mr. Rachal was an honorary LA Dodgers Baseball fan and loved his Western shows, especially, “Gunsmoke”. He worked for over 10 years in the maintenance department for Hotel Bentley in Alexandria. He was a gifted mechanic and tinkerer and enjoyed his harmonica and Blues. Mr. Rachal will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Rachal and Emily Gallien Rachal.

Mr. Rachal is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Lustro Rachal; daughters, Catherine Mills (Vernon) of Alexandria and Cheryl Meche (Perry) of Basile; son, John Rachal (Rachel) of Pineville; 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
