Obituary for Joe McClung Jr.

Mr. Joe Brooks McClung, Jr., age 71, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 2, 2019 at his residence.

Services for Mr. McClung will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Reverends Kenneth Hyde and Chad Whitstine officiating. Visitation for Mr. McClung will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2019; at Gallagher Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. time of service. Burial will be in Dry Prong Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Mr. Joe McClung, Jr., the Outlaw of Chandler Plantation, loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, running yoyos, and duck hunting on Iatt Lake and was either the luckiest or best deer hunter around. Much of his hunting success comes from his two Beagles Bear and Little Bit. Mr. McClung was a hard worker and retired as a cross country truck driver. He loved his family and grandchildren, especially Haley Jowers. Mr. McClung was one of a kind and was often imitated but seldom duplicated. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him, and so will his squirrel gumbo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe McClung, Sr. and Thelma Wyatt McClung; and sister, Texie Joe McClung Couvillion.

Mr. McClung is survived by his son, Dan McClung (Susan) of Dry Prong; daughter, Jodie Marie McClung of Tioga; brother, Jerry McClung (Lacie) of Tioga; grandchildren, Haley Jowers (DJ), Lauren McClung, Presley McClung, Matt Despino, and Kody Despino; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, DJ Jowers, Matt Despino, Joseph McKay, Joshua McKay, Cory Spear, and Dan McClung
