Obituary for Mary Ellen Skains (Parker)
Mrs. Mary Ellen Parker Skains, age 75, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 13, 2019 in Boyce, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Skains will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. with Joe Arnold officiating. Friends may visit on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Skains was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Alexandria and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and cooking. She also retired from the Alexandria Police Department after 20 years of service. Mrs. Skains will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
Mrs. Skains was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years B.G. Skains and mother, Maxine Parker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Brian McDougal (Chauncy) of Alexandria and Scott McDougal (Sarah) of Kincaid area; daughter, Patty Carlock of Kincaid area; 4 grandchildren, Emilly Chandler (Nick), Brittany McDougal, Kary Shelton (James), and Trysten Gaige McDougal; 3 great-grandchildren; Colton Chandler, Dalton Chandler, and Kenna Shelton; brothers, Jimmy Parker (Sherry) of Florida and Tommy Parker of Virginia; and sisters, Patty Hay of Alexandria and Deanna Arnold (Tom) of Alexandria.
