My prayers and condolences are with the family of Neal. Neal was a close friend and a fellow soldier. Neal was always supportive and loyal to his units of assignments and a professional in his duties. I was fortunate to have known and worked with Neal and appreciated his friendship and assistance that he provided to me. He will be dearly missed. God Bless Neal and all of his family.

It is the “Soldier”
In Memorial Honor to SFC Neil O. Double
Louisiana National Guard

It’s the Soldier,
not the pastor/preacher, who has given us freedom of religion and worship.
It’s the Soldier,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It’s the Soldier,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It’s the Soldier,
not the demonstration organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate.
It’s the Soldier,
not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It’s the Soldier,
not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the Soldier, Who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

The American Soldier does not fight because he hate who is in front of him; he fights because he love who is behind him.

My condolences to your family during your loss. I met Neal back in 2004 at Brewzerz while dating who became my second husband. Neal was always very nice and respectful to me. I thank him for his service for our country. May he finally rest in peace and ride the streets of gold!!! Sincerely, Michelle Fluitt Grooms
