“There is one great fact that gives the Christian assurance in the face of death: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the physical bodily resurrection of Christ that gives us confidence and hope.”
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV)
I remember always going over to her home. She would have this big backyard and Jess and I would pick pecans for hours. I remember spraying her with the water hose in her backyard when I was 8 years old. And how she would have us run around her house to wear us out before naps. I especially remember when she walked us to the park one day and a bird pooped on her should, we thought it was the funniest thing because she loves birds so much.
-Nick Gullatt (Grandson)
Your Mom was a wonderful sister whom I loved very much.
-Catherine (Margaret’s Sister)
Thank you for not being my mother-in-law, but for being my mama. I will always be grateful for the love you gave me. I will never forget you. Love Marie.
-Marie Bordelon (Daughter)
Thank you for always being there for me and my children. Your guidance and love taught me to be the best Mom I could because of you. Even though you are no longer here with us, you will always be on my mind and in my heart. I am the woman I am today because of how you loved me.
-Ann (Daughter)
Your “class” was something to be admired. You made Miss Manners proud. Thank you for instilling me with your love of shopping. I will forever love you and miss you.
-Crystal (Granddaughter)
Thank you for being my Mom. I wouldn’t be here, but for you. I wouldn’t be the person I am today, but for you. Oh yeah, I know, I still owe you about 57,000 lines: “I will not talk back to my Mother.” Love you Mom.
-“Just Me”
Gigi,
Erin, Ron, Kelcy, Mercedes, Trey & Sheva love you very much & are so glad to have visited you this past summer. Love and prayers!
-Peggy (Daughter)
Hi Mom, I am so proud of you and you have wonderful children around you, each has a good heart. You are such a happy, lucky, wonderful Mommy. I wish you all love and happiness in heaven. Happiness, peace and joy with God in heaven. I love you so much and am very happy to be a part of this family and a daughter to you.
-Aihua (Daughter-in-law)
The loss of a loved one is never an easy thing, especially those to whom you were closest to. To the woman I had the honor and privilege to call my grandmother. To the woman who helped raise my brother and I. To the woman who stayed by my side and traveled with me in ambulance minutes after I was born. To the woman who loved me so well and helped shape me into the woman that I am today.
From you being a part of all our childhood moments, to living to see the day we graduated high school and the day I graduated college. To standing with me at my wedding. I will never forget the little moments we shared at your home, when Nick and I were younger. From picking pecans in your background to busting your lip jumping up to give you a hug too excitedly. From you always pushing me to pursue my passion for art, especially photography and embedding in me a love for learning and to always give my best. To me helping take care of you in your last few months, just us you took care of Nick and I when we were younger. From your own great love of learning to your love of reading to your sweet spirit. From your thrift shopping to your vast collection of books and National Geographic magazines. From in your old age, always wanting waffles for breakfast and ice cream for dinner. For your love of others and loving others with such a big heart, no matter who they were or their circumstances. To living a life in pursuit of being a Jesus-Hearted woman and a light to all you met.
Words can’t express how greatly you will be missed Mimi. I am thankful you are no longer in any pain. I am thankful to have been able to spend time with you before your time here on earth ended. I’m thankful you are now in heaven with all the others you have greatly missed over the years, especially Grandpa. I’m thankful you are at peace and that God is our greatest comforter. Even though grief feels like a heavy weight that will not lift from our shoulders and the tears still come and go, I pray we choose joy in celebrating your life and legacy. May we always know you are one of the greatest gifts God has blessed our family with.
-Jessica Harrington (Granddaughter)
Our last little talk, as I sat on your bed, facing you. We talked about heaven. You looked at me with childlike innocence. Face full of wonder and delight as I described heaven. “Oh the joy and peace beyond all comparison and happiness, nothing in comparison to anything on this earth. Everyone is in heaven waiting for you, Paulie, your Mama, your boys.” She lite up, eyes widened, saying, “And the Lord?” I said, “Oh, YES. The Lord will throw open the gates of Heaven and will hold you in his arms as a child. He will say to you: “ Oh Margie, how I’ve been waiting for you. I am so proud of you. You have been such a good Christian. You have led a good life.” I said, “Oh the joy and happiness the peace, the harmony. The love of God and all your loved ones. Oh and the angels you will see the angels.” I said, “And you’ll have wings and be young again. No more pain and sorrow. I know you have been in pain for along time.” “You’ll see colors beyond your wildest dreams. Oh the joy, oh the joy, you will feel. Paulie will be there telling you that he has been waiting for you, but he didn’t want you to come before it was your time. And you’ll have wings and be flying around heaven with Paulie and your boys. Oh the dancing.” She brightened. “Oh yes, there will be dancing. You and Paulie will be dancing on the clouds one night and I’m going to look up and you’ll be dancing on the moon.”
