Obituary for Patricia Alberta Tetu (McKay)

Patricia “Pat” Alberta Tetu, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her home in Alexandria, Louisiana after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born on November 23, 1937, and was raised in Pollock, Louisiana. She served in the US Army for 6 years and the US National Guard for 5 years after graduating from Pollock High School. After leaving the military, she worked for Dresser Industries.

Pat is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Lillian McKay, and sister, Lorraine Bush. Left to cherish her memory are husband, Bob Tetu; sisters, Phyllis Broussard and husband, Daniel, of Alexandria, Louisiana; Janice Hanzik and husband, Lee, of Angleton, Texas; bonus daughter, Kelly Miller; and numerous nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Pat was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. She had a smile and personality that lit up a room and was always quick to witness and share her faith. She enjoyed spending her time singing and playing the keyboard.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pat’s life at a viewing from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Gallagher Funeral Home, 3994 Monroe Hwy, Ball, Louisiana 71405. The funeral service will be performed by Pastor David Shaw of Parkview Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. A military internment will immediately follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are James Rambo, Eurskin Cook, Bruce Knight, Ralph Funk, Donnie Anders.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Pat.
