Obituary for Joyce Marie James (Brown)
Mrs. Joyce Marie Brown James, age 86, of Monroe, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services for Mrs. James will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana, with Reverends Jeff James and Rick Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Marlow Cemetery in Cravens, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. Visitation for Mrs. James will be on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
Mrs. Joyce James was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, dancing with the kids, and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. James would never miss an opportunity to travel the world and even sickness could not keep her from an exciting trip. Above all else was her strong faith and love for God and love for her family. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil James; parents, Reese Brown, Sr. and Irene Willis Brown; and siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa Williams (Gerald) of Monroe; grandchildren, Jamie McCollough (Kenny Rials) New York, Eugenia Francois (Jon) of Ball, and Farrion McCollough (Jennifer) of Covington; great grandchildren, Ethan, Gabriella, and Victoria Francois; Dalton, Matthew, Noah, and Eli McCollough; and Elizabeth ,Grayson Rials-McCollough; brothers, Roy Brown, Charles Brown, and Kenneth Null; and sister, Hazel Brown.
