Obituary for Timothy Lee Hollingsworth

Funeral services for Mr. Timothy Lee Hollingsworth, age 48, of Ball, Louisiana will be on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Hosanna Baptist Church, 125 Powell Drive, Ball, Louisiana, with Reverends Kevin Paul and Michael Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at New Union Cemetery in Tullos, Louisiana under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home of Ball, Louisiana. Visitation for Mr. Hollingsworth will be on Sunday evening, December 29, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball.

Mr. Hollingsworth entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Ochsner Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Hollingsworth was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who loved his family, traveling, and history, especially Louisiana history. After a long career with Delta Airlines, he taught history at Tioga Junior High before obtaining the position of curator for the Louisiana History Museum in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was also actively involved with the Alexandria Historical and Genealogical Library. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Hollingsworth is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lee and Erie Hollingsworth and Ruth Brown Hollingsworth of Ball, Louisiana, maternal grandparents Hugh and Mamie Nugent of Tullos, Louisiana, and brothers Marcus Hollingsworth and Jeffrey Hollingsworth. He is survived by his parents, Reverend Bennie and Mary Jane Hollingsworth; four sisters: Melody O'Banion (William), Belinda Marchand, Gerilyn Walker (Micah) and Penny Paul (Kevin); eight nieces: Alyssa O'Banion, Samantha O'Banion, Hannah O'Banion, Miranda Marchand, Alana Marchand, Emma Walker, Madilyn Walker and Allie Walker; four nephews: Ben Marchand, Reilly O'Banion, Noah Walker and Caleb Paul, and a great host of friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Ben Marchand, Reilly O'Banion, Noah Walker, William O'Banion, Micah Walker, Derik Watts, and Nathan Parish. Donations may be made in Timothy's memory to The Louisiana History Museum (www.louisianahistorymuseum.org) or The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
