Obituary for Billy Wayne Durrett

Mr. Billy Wayne Durrett, age 66, of Clearwater, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 3, 2020 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.

A brief visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Lecompte, on Sunday January 5, 2020, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at Pratt Cemetery in Clearwater, Louisiana, with Brother Rodney Bragg officiating and under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Mr. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. for five years, as a helicopter Crew Chief. He was a heavy equipment operator and member of the Local 406 for 9 years. He owned and operated his own trucking business for 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Billie Jean Durrett; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon Walker Durrett; daughters, Amanda Clark (Les) and Samantha Charrier (Brandon); grandchildren, Kirsten, Madison and Ayden Karisny; Kimber Charrier, Kaci, Trenton, and LJ Clark; sisters, Susan VanHoof (Ricky) and Cindy Blood; one brother, Jody Clarke (Toni); and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve include, Jeremy VanHoof, Clay Blood, Brandon Charrier, Mikey Robbins, Les Clark, and Ayden Karisny. Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky VanHoof, Mike Walker, Mark Walker, Greg Ward, and Gage Blood.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Lecompte.
