Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy M. Broussard will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Fr. Kenneth officiating. Interment with will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Broussard, age 78, of Otis, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 5, 2016 at her residence.

Dorothy was a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. She retired from Pinecrest State School after 22 years of service. She spent her time volunteering and she loved to listen to music and dance. She was a member of St. Jude Church. She was always giving of herself and time to the Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death her parents, Wilfred and Rowena Schexnayder; her husband of 58 years, Lionel Jean Broussard; one son, Michael Antony Broussard; one brother, Wilfred Schexnayder, Jr.; one granddaughter, Bridget Leigh Gordon.

Those left to cherish her memory are four children, Berton James Broussard (Susan) of Slidell, Nathan G. Broussard (Wendi) of Seiper, April Broussard (Roy) of Gardner and Lottie Gordon (David) of Elmer; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her amazing caregiver, Linda Silas.

Friends may call on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Mission Church, P.O. Box 636-826, 8th St., Glenmora, Louisiana 71433.
