Life Story for Anne Dusenbury Miller (Dusenbury)

Anne Dusenbury Miller (Dusenbury)
Anne leaves behind a remarkable legacy of kindness. She was able to share her kindness for many years as a preschool teacher at Alexandria First United Methodist Church. She also spent many years as an AARP Tax-Aide volunteer for mostly low and middle income senior citizens. Her faith was important to her. She was an active member of Pineville First United Methodist Church and contributed much to the church with her artistic talents.

Anne had numerous hobbies that allowed her to meet many people whom she cherished dearly. Anne loved to participate in Yoga classes, spent a great deal of time studying art and painting, loved to travel and took several overseas trips in her last years with Michael. Anne also enjoyed gardening for many years, particularly raising hybrid daylilies and serving with the Timber Trails Garden Club.

Anne's greatest passion was her family. Anne loved her husband dearly, and it was never more evident than during her final two years with illness while he cared for her so selflessly. She was the proud mother of two children and five grandchildren whom she cherished immensely. Anne enjoyed planning family gatherings and then utilizing her artistic skills to produce photo albums and custom family videos.

Anne was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dusenbury.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael E. Miller; her mother, Mildred Walker Dusenbury; her daughter, Gwendolyn Miller Poling (Jason); her son, Ramsey Miller (Andrea); her brother, Charles Dusenbury (Susan); five grandchildren, Sophia Poling, Ezra Poling, Abraham Poling, Abigail Miller, and Charles Miller; her nephew, Ross Dusenbury; her niece, Courtney Dusenbury; and her sister-in-law, Melanie Miller Eiche (Richard).

Her family will greatly miss her kindness, leadership, caring nature, boundless optimism, and companionship. A memorial service will be held October 2, 2016 at the Pineville First United Methodist Church, 2550 Monroe Highway, Pineville, LA. A family pre-visitation will be held in the sanctuary at 2PM and the service will be at 3PM.

A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, Anne requested that donations be made to a fund to support a project at M.D. Anderson to build a dedicated metastatic breast cancer center of excellence. Tax deductible donation : http://give.mdanderson.com/site/TR/Walk/BootWalk?px=1066635&pg=personal&fr_id=1071
