Obituary for Eldrige V.L. "Pop" Jarrell
A Celebration of Life for Mr. V.L. “Pop” Jarrell will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of New Prospect Baptist Church, 111 Prospect Church Rd., Dry Prong, LA 71423.
Mr. V.L. Jarrell, age 75, of Dry Prong, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Jarrell served his country in the Unites States Army. He retired as a Guard at Angola Prison, Camp J. His wishes to die at home were honored. V.L. loved life, hunting and fishing. He will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ellen McKee Jarrell; two brothers, Edward and Frank Jarrell, Jr.; two sisters, Marie Jarrell and Lucille Largent.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Nettie Phillips Nugent; three sons, Arron Alan Jarrell (Juandie), Terry Carroll and Bryan Carroll (Melissa); grandchildren, Matthew and Raeanna Jarrell, Mandy Burch, Jessica Veatch, Kelsey and Tyler Scroggs, James Carroll and Natalie Doyle; ten great-grandchildren.
